
La Plagne
Situated in the French Alps, La Plagne is made up of ten
stations:
- La Plagne Centre (1970m) being the heart of the ski-area
- Aime La Plagne (2100m)
- Plagne Villages (2050m)
- Plagne Soleil (2050m)
- Belleplagne (2050m)
- Plagne Bellecote (1930m)
- Plagne 1800 (1800m)
- Les Coches (1450m)
- Montchavin (1250m)
- Plagne Montalbert (1350m)
- Champagny En Vanoise (1250m).
When it comes to surface areas to ski, with La Plagne and
Paradiski (La Plagne, Peisey-Vallandry, Les Arcs) you have
one of the largest ski areas in the world.
La Plagne has 225km of piste ranging from 1250m to 3250m in
altitude. The slopes include 10 blacks; 34 reds; 79 blues;
11 greens and have 105 ski lifts and 277 snow canons. There
are also three snowparks, a half-pipe and three boardercross
circuits.
Paradiski offers 425km of slopes and the same altitude range.
29 black runs; 66 reds; 133 blues; 12 greens and 141 ski lifts.
Throughout all the stations, La Plagne has almost everything
you could possibly want to do. From ice climbing to the Olympic
Bob sleigh, night skiing on the floodlit stadium, ice rinks,
dog sled rides, swimming, fitness/relaxation/massage/beauty
centres, snow shoe walking, paragliding, hang gliding, cross
country skiing, indoor climbing wall, squash, skidoo rides,
bowling, paintball, karting, themed walks/ paths, nearby Savoyard
art and culture, traditional old villages... the list is endless.
If the activity or friends are in other stations of La Plagne
it's is easy with the free Navette (bus) service and some
cable cars to get between Aime La Plagne, Plagne Centre; Plagne
Villages; Plagne Soleil; Plagne 1800; Plagne Bellecote and
Belleplagne.
Even if you don’t ski, you can take the “Funiplagne”
cable car to the top of The Grande Rochette (2505m) and enjoy
the amazing views and breathe fresh mountain air.

Train - Eurostar direct from UK arrives
in Moutiers; Bourg St. Maurice and Aime. If already in France
then use the TGV and SNCF (www.voyages-sncf.com)
services to Aime, the nearest station, alternatively to Moutiers
or Bourg St. Maurice.
Car - Car hire is available at all airports
and station towns. Be aware that car hire from Geneva is easier
from the Swiss side (where UK arrivals are). The route is
simple and almost all motorway/dual carriage way from the
airports. Don’t forget to account for the price of the
tolls which depends on which direction you are coming from.
From Geneva on the motorway head towards Annecy, Chambery,
Albertville, Moutiers (Vallee Tarentaise), Aime and then La
Plagne. From Lyon follow signs to Grenoble then to Albertville,
Moutiers (Vallee Tarentaise), Aime and the La Plagne.
Note: From Geneva it is easy but longer to go via Annecy
and Albertville, not using the motorway and therefore avoiding
the tolls but the tolls from Geneva Airport total about 10
euros.
